How to Crochet a Stylish Scarf


You’ll Need:
12 (13) skeins of grey-blue yarn (10% cashmere, 70% merino wool, 20% microfiber; 140m/50g);
Crochet hook 4.5;
7 buttons.
Size:
S/M (L/XL).
Width of stripes 1 and 2: 45 (50) cm;
Length of stripe 1: 125 (130) cm;
Length of stripe 2 (from place of turning stripe 1): 80 (85) cm.
Stitches Control:
18 sts x 11 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions:
Stripe 1
Make 99 (111) chain sts, including 3 chain sts increase with crochet hook 4.5. Turn your work and continue according to the scheme, repeating the pattern x 8 (9) times = 8 (9) squares. Repeat the 3rd-8th rows. Continue crocheting straight until the length of stripe is 125 (130) cm (the last row = 6th row).
Stripe 2
Place stripe 1 of the initial chain face to you. After that, work along the right side, making double crochets along the straight edge, starting from the lower right corner.
For the 1st row, make in the same way as the 7th row according to the scheme: 3 chain sts, 2 double crochets in 1 st, * 8 chain sts, skip the 6th row and work between the 6th and 7th rows; after that, make 2 double crochets, 1 chain st, and 2 double crochets in 1 st*; repeat from * to *. Repeat the pattern x 8 (9) times, and finish the row with 3 double crochets in 1 st. After that, crochet straight according to the scheme until the length of stripe is 80 (85) cm (the last row = 6th row).
Assembly:
Make 1 chain st, and then, in every chain st, execute the following combination of sts: * 1 single crochet, 1 half double crochet, 3 double crochets, 1 half double crochet, 1 single crochet*; repeat from * to * in every chain to the last chain, making 1 single crochet in the last st. After that, make 3 chains along the opposite edge of the scarf. Make 5 chain sts and 1 single crochet between the 2nd and 3rd rows, 5 chain sts, 1 single crochet between the 4th and 5th rows, 5 chain sts, 1 single crochet between the 6th and 7th rows, and turn your work with the help of 1 chain st. After that, make two-sided piping: * 1 single crochet, 1 half double crochet, 2 double crochets, 1 half double crochet, 1 single crochet*; repeat from * to * in each of the 3 chain sts and circle the row with 1 slip st in single crochet in the corner of the scarf. Finally, fasten the ends and sew on the buttons.
