Instructions
Back
Cast on 92; 98; 104; 110; 122 sts with knitting needles 6.5 in 2 threads of yarn (both colors) and make 1 x 2 rib. The first and the last 2 sts should be purls. In 8 cm height, switch to knitting needles 7 and start working with the fancy “arans” pattern. For sizes S; M; XL, decrease 1 st at the beginning and end of the first rows. There should be 92; 96; 102; 110; 120 sts on the knitting needles.
Divide the sts: 2; 4; 7; 2; 7 sts – wrong-side patterns, 1st-18th rows of “arans” x 4; 4; 4; 5; 5 times, 1st-16th rows of “arans,” 2; 4; 7; 2; 7 sts – wrong-side patterns.
At 37 cm height from the rib, place a marker on the selvedge st. This will mark your arm-holes. Continue knitting straight.
At 58; 59; 60; 61; 62 cm from the rib, bind off from both sides: 1 x 5 sts; 1 x 5 sts; 1 x 6 sts; 1 x 6 sts; 1 x 7 sts. Then, in every second row: 4 x 5 sts; 2 x 5 sts; 2 x 6 sts; 4 x 6 sts; 1 x 6 sts; and 3 x 7 sts; 1 x 7 sts and 3 x 8 sts.
At 60; 61; 62; 63; 64 cm from the rib, bind off the central 14; 14; 14; 16; 16 sts. After knitting 2 rows straight (each part separately), bind off 14 sts for each shoulder.
Front
Work the front in the same manner as the back, leaving the neck-hole line at 57; 58; 59; 60; 61 cm from the rib. Bind off the central 12; 12; 12; 14; 14 sts, and continue each part separately. For a smooth rounding along the inner neck-hole line, bind off in every second row: 1 x 6 sts; 1 x 4 sts; 1 x 3 sts; 1 x 2 sts.
Create shoulder chamfers in the same way as for the back.
Sleeves
Cast on 47; 50; 53; 56; 59 sts with knitting needles 6.5 in 2 threads of yarn (both colors) and make 1 x 2 rib. The first and the last 2 sts should be purls. In 8 cm height, switch to knitting needles 7.
Continue with the main “arans” pattern. Make increases in the first row: 7; 8; 7; 8; 7 sts. The total will be 54; 58; 60; 64; 66 sts. Divide the sts: 1; 3; 4; 6; 7 sts – wrong-side pattern, 1st-18th rows of “arans,” 1st-16th rows of “arans,” 1; 3; 4; 6; 7 sts of wrong-side pattern.
For side widening, make increases in the wrong-side pattern: 4 x 1 st in every 8th row and 3 x 1 st in every 10th row; 5 x 1 st in every 8th row and 2 x 1 st in every 10th row; 6 x 1 st in every 8th row and 1 x 1 st in every 10th row; and 7 x 1 st in every 8th row.
The total will be 68; 72; 74; 78; 80 sts.
At 40; 39.5; 38.5; 37.5; 35.5 cm from the rib, bind off all the sts.
Make the second sleeve in the same way.
Collar
Cast on 101; 101; 101; 104; 104 sts with knitting needles 6.5 in 2 threads of yarn (both colors). Make 1 x 2 rib. Work the first and last 2 rows with purls. After 20 cm, make 1 row of knit sts and several rows of stockinette stitch with contrast yarn on the right side.
