Flower Petals
In pink yarn. Ch 26.
(dc, ch 2, slst in next st, slst in next st) x 8 along the chain — this should create 8 petals. Using a darning needle, sew the chain of petals around the head and secure ends neatly so the petals form a crown.
Beak
In orange yarn. Wrap orange yarn 2 or 3 times around 4 stitches between the eyes to form a simple beak. Tie or weave in ends on the inside of the head to secure.
Assembly & Finishing
- Stuff firmly but not overfilled so seams stay smooth. Use small amounts of stuffing as you close the head to get a rounded shape.
- Sew wings symmetrically into the openings made in R11.
- Attach the flower petals around the head evenly; adjust spacing before securing.
- If making this toy for small children, consider embroidering the eyes instead of using small safety eyes for added safety.
- Weave in all yarn tails securely and trim excess.
Tips
- If you want a different finished size, try a different hook/yarn combination — a smaller hook or lighter yarn will make a smaller duck, and vice versa.
- Practice the bobble (BO) on scrap yarn to get consistent texture for the flower centers if used.
- Keep a stitch marker handy to track round starts when working in continuous rounds.
Enjoy creating your petal-crowned Crochet Flower Duck Amigurumi — it's a quick, satisfying project that makes a great handmade gift or cheerful decoration.
