Materials

• Worsted weight yarn (Chroma Worsted used)
• Approx. (100, 120, 140, 160, 180, 230, 270) yards total
• Crochet hook in size 5mm or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge

9 Star sts (18 total sts) and 12 rows (6 total Stars) in 4” square using the Star Stitch.

Pattern Notes

• Pattern written using US terms.
• The chain at the beginning of each row does NOT count as a stitch.
• The EVEN numbered rows are “Right Side”.
• The row ends are the “heel” and “toe”.

Instructions

Row 1: Ch-(27, 33, 37, 39, 41, 47, 51), sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each to end. (26, 32, 36, 38, 40, 46, 50)

Row 2: Ch-3, turn, pull up a loop in the 2nd ch from hook, and 3rd ch from hook, and in each of the first 3 sts, (6 loops on hook) YO pull through all loops, ch-1. * Star st using eye of previous star, final “leg” of star, same st, and next two sts, ch-1 * repeat between * * until one st remains, Lhdcslst using eye of final star and final st. (12, 15, 17, 18, 19, 22, 24 Star sts)

Row 3: Ch-1, turn, sl st in first st, 2hdc in eye of each Star st across, hdc in final st. (26, 32, 36, 38, 40, 46, 50)

Rows 4 through (17, 19, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27): alternate previous two rows (26, 32, 36, 38, 40, 46, 50)

Heel

Fasten off leaving a ~12” long tail for seaming. Fold rectangle in half widthwise and sew row end for row end. Weave in end.

Toe

Attach yarn at top right of the sl stitched side (for “right foot”) or top left of the sl stitched side (for “left foot”). Using yarn tail, whip stitch row ends for a total of (11, 12, 12, 14, 15, 17, 18) rows and pull to cinch together. Secure toe by weaving in ends.

Lay the unsewn corner across the top of the foot and whip stitch across the toe and down the side about 1.5” – 2”. Weave in all ends.
