Instructions

You will use 5 colors total (Yarn A–E). Switch colors as indicated.

Foundation Ring

With Yarn A, ch 5, join with sl-st to form a ring.

Round 1

Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), work 11 dc into the ring.

Join with sl-st to the top of ch-3. (12 dc total)

Break off Yarn A.

Round 2

Join Yarn B in any dc. Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in the same st, ch 1, 2 dc in the next dc, ch 1; rep from * around.

Join with sl-st to the top of ch-3. (12 2-dc groups, 12 ch-1 spaces)

Break off Yarn B.

Round 3

Join Yarn C in any ch-1 sp.

Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in the same sp, ch 1.

3 dc in the next ch-1 sp, ch 1; rep around.

Join with sl-st to the top of ch-3.

Break off Yarn C.

Round 4

Join Yarn D in any ch-1 sp.

Ch 3, 2 dc in the same sp, ch 1, 3 dc in the next 2 ch-1 sps, [3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc] in the next sp (corner), 3 dc in the next 2 ch-1 sps, ch 1; rep around to form 4 corners.

Join with sl-st to the top of ch-3.

Break off Yarn D.

Round 5

Join Yarn E in any side sp between clusters.

Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in each dc and space across sides, working [3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc] in each corner ch-2 sp.

Join with sl-st.

Break off Yarn E.

Round 6 (Optional)

Join with Yarn A in any corner.

Ch 1, sc in each stitch around, working [1 sc, ch 1, 1 sc] in each corner. Join with sl-st.

Break off and weave in all ends.

Final Touches

For best results, lightly block your square to shape.
