Scrubby Directions

For a set, make 4-6 scrubbies:

1. Start with a magic circle of 8 hdc sts (or preferred method for creating a circle of 8 hdc sts), pull closed and sl st to join. (8 sts)

2. Ch 1, 2hdc in each st to end of round, sl st to join. (16 sts) The “2hdc” will be referred to as a “cluster”.

From this point on, work the sts of each round between the posts of the previous round. This is done by inserting the hook slightly below the normal st placement. See graphic at right.

3. Ch 1, TURN, 2hdc before the first cluster, *ch 1, 2hdc between next 2 clusters*, repeat to end of round, ch 1, sl st in first st to join. (16 sts + 8 chs/8 clusters)

4. Ch 1, TURN, (2hdc, ch 1, 2hdc) in each ch 1 space from the previous round, sl st in first st to join. (32 sts + 8 chs)

5. Do not turn. *Ch 1, (sc, ch 1, sc) in the ch 1 space, ch 1, sc before the next cluster*, repeat to end of round, sl st in first st to join. Finish off and weave in ends. (24 sts + 24 chs) See bottom graphic at right.
