Crochet Pocket Pal Unicorn

The sewn eyes for the puffy stuffy unicorn span about 4 sts, with 2 sts between them, covering the span of 1 rnd. Knot and fasten off all pieces inside the body. *If making the pocket pal you can sew the eyes OR use the safety eyes. Placement for the safety eyes is the same row, but about 4 or 5 stitches in between them.**You might even want to stop here, and make the snout (below). It is slightly easier to sew on before stuffing!

*** For pocket pal/keychain only

Before stuffing, place the screw of your rivets inside the unicorn, and push it through the stitches approximately 3 rows from center, so that there is room for the horn. You can even make the horn and sew that on first, for reference. Dab some fabric glue into the top of the screw on the top of the head, and quickly screw the top of our rivet onto the screw. The glue will help it to stay screwed on during use.

Begin stuffing. Body will stretch as you stuff, so stuff a little more after each rnd here before closing.

Rnd 16: (invsc2tog, sc in next 3 sts)6x; 24 sts
Rnd 17: invsc2tog 6x; 12 sts
Rnd 18: invsc2tog 6x; 6 sts

Complete stuffing, if you can put anymore through the middle.
Fasten off and weave the end around the hole to close. Your HOOK NOOK ends weaver is the perfect tool for pulling those final ends through your puffy stuffy!

You should have a total of 5 ringlets for the mane of your puffy stuffy unicorn. Fasten off leaving a very long tail for sewing. Sew the mane onto the head with the shortest ringlet to the front/side of the horn, and the others all turning toward the back. The style depends upon how you sew it on! You can have the ringlets dangle, or, like pictured, sew them in flower like curls.

Rnd 3: (inc, sc in next 2 sts)2x; 8 sts

Rnd 4: (inc, sc in next 3 sts)2x; 10 sts

Fasten off, and leave long tail for sewing.
Sew the taller ear to the side without the hair, next to the horn. Sew the shorter ear on top of the hair, on the other side of the horn.
For some finishing touches to your puffy stuffy unicorn or pocket pal, add a little blush to the cheeks and inner ears. If you have been making the keychain ption, attach your key ring and lobster clasp, and your Pocket Pal Unicorn Keychain is now ready for use!
