1 tr = 1 inch length
Notes
ch 4 at the beginning of each row counts as the 1st tr.
I used an I hook, but this shawl needs to be stitched loosely, so if you are a tight crocheter you may want to go up a hook size.
Rows Instructions
RND 1: Ch 6, join to form a circle. Work all these stitches in the circle - ch 4(counts as 1st tr), 1 tr, ch 2, 2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr, turn (3 tr Vsts)
RND 2: Ch 4, 1 tr in the space between the 1st 2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr in the same space, ch 2, *2 tr in the space between the next 2 tr sts, ch 2* Repeat from * to * across the row to the last V st, 2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr in the last v st, turn (5 tr v sts)
RND 3: Ch 4, 1 tr in the space between the 1st 2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr in the same space, ch 2, *2 tr in the space between the next 2 tr sts, ch 2* Repeat from * to * across the row to the last V st, 2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr in the last v st, turn (7 tr v sts)
RND 4: Ch 4, 1 tr in the space between the 1st 2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr in the same space, ch 2, *2 tr in the space between the next 2 tr sts, ch 2* Repeat from * to * across the row to the last V st, 2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr in the last v st, turn (9 tr v sts)
RND 5: Ch 4, 1 tr in the space between the 1st 2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr in the same space, ch 2, *2 tr in the space between the next 2 tr sts, ch 2* Repeat from * to * across the row to the last V st, 2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr in the last v st, turn (11 tr v sts)
RND 6: Repeat RND 3 Adding an increase V st at the beginning and ending of each row, as shown in the picture. (At RND 35 you should have 96 Tr V sts)
RND 36: Ch 1, 1 sc in the space between the 1st 2 tr, *2 sc in the next ch 2 space, 1 sc in the space between the next 2 Tr* Repeat from * to * across, ch 1, turn
Working down the side of the shawl, *3 sc in the space of the tr, 1 sc in the side of the st* Repeat from * to * to the point of the shawl, 3 sc in the point, then Repeat from * to * up to the other side, join to the 1st sc with a slip stitch, ch 1
RND 37: 1 sc in each sc across, tie off and weave in your ends.
