What You Need

  • A package of BonBons (I used party)
  • Scrap green worsted weight yarn
  • Size C (2.75mm) hook
  • Size F (3.75mm) hook
  • Several small beads
  • A needle that fits through your beads

Creating the Flowers

For the flowers, you will need:

  • C hook and BonBons
  • I made 7 flowers
  • Each flower is made in a magic circle and pulled tight to create the flower.

The magic circle pattern is as follows:

  • Single crochet (sc)
  • Double crochet (dc1)
  • Treble crochet (tr1)
  • Close with slip stitch (sl st)

Repeat from * till you have five petals, pull tight and tie a knot, leave tails for sewing to headband.

Making the Headband

Using the F hook and worsted weight yarn, follow these steps:

  • Chain a length that is about 2-3 inches shorter than the length around your head.
  • Single crochet down the chain.
  • In the last chain, make 3 single crochets (sc 3), then sc up the bottom of the chain (do not turn).
  • Work 2 single crochets in the last chain (this is where you started), then slip stitch to join.
  • Weave in ends.
  • Cut four 24-inch long pieces of headband color and thread two strands through each end of your headband.
  • Tie a knot, braid to the desired length, tie an ending knot, and trim the ends.

Assembling the Headband

Sew flowers evenly spaced along the headband, adding beads in the center of each flower.

Finally, weave in any remaining ends for a polished finish.
