- Eyelash yarn (I used Cello)
- Size F5 (3.75 mm) hook
- Size 7 (4.5 mm) hook
- Polyester fiber fill
- Yarn needle
- Clip to keep place
- Scissors
Body:
Work in continuous rounds with F hook:
- Chain 2
- Round 1: Work 6 sc in first chain
- Round 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 st
- Round 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, repeat from * around - 18 st
- Round 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, repeat from * around - 24 st
- Round 5-10: Sc in each sc around
- Round 11: *Sc2tog, sc in each of next 2 sts, repeat from * around - 18 st
- Round 12: *Sc2tog, sc in next st, repeat from * around - 12 st
- Stuff firmly
- Round 13: Sc2tog around - 6 st
- Sew up end and weave in end
Beak:
Work in continuous rounds with F hook:
- Chain 2
- Round 1: Work 6 sc in first chain
- Round 2: Sc
- Leave yarn tail for sewing up later
Wings:
Work in continuous rounds. Make 2 with F hook:
- Chain 2
- Round 1: Work 6 sc in first chain
- Round 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 st
- Leave yarn tail for sewing up later
Tail:
Work with F hook:
- Chain 6
- Row 1-3: Sc in back loops only - 5 st
- Gather end
- Leave yarn tails for sewing up later
Nest:
Work in continuous rounds with size 7 hook:
- Chain 2
- Round 1: Work 6 sc in first chain
- Round 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 st
- Round 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, repeat from * around - 18 st
- Round 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, repeat from * around - 24 st
- Round 5-7: Sc in each sc around
- Row 8: Switch to eyelash yarn and sc
- Finish off and weave in ends
Assembly:
Sew on the beak and stitch the eyes. Center the tail in the back and sew it on.
Last but not least, sew on the wings; I just sew the 3 top stitches.
