Worsted weight yarn in 2 colours,

Size H (5mm) hook

Size: 7"

Instructions to Create the Puffs Square

Round 1

With colA, ch4, join to form a ring.

  • ch4. (dc, ch1) 7 times. Join to 3rd ch of ch4.

Round 2

Ch3. FPDC around the same st. Ch1, (dc in sp, ch1, FPDC around dc, ch1) around. End with (dc, ch1) in the last space, join to the top of FPDC.

Round 3

Ch3. FPDC around the same st. *ch1. Puff st (4dc in same st, drop loop from hook, insert hook in 1st dc, pull free loop through) in next dc. ch2. FPDC around dc. Repeat from * around. End with puff st, ch2, join to the top of FPDC. FO.

Round 4

Join colB in any st. Ch1, sc in the same sp and in ea stitch around. Join. (40 sc)

Round 5

Ch3. Dc in the next st. Puff in next. Ch1, dc in next. *5 dc in the next st for corner. Dc in 2 sts, puff in next, ch1, dc in 4. Puff in next, ch1, dc in 1 st. Repeat from * around. Join.

Round 6

Ch2. Hdc around, working 5 dc in the centre of each corner. Join to the top of ch2, FO.

Round 7

Join colA in any st. Ch3, dc around, working 5 dc in each centre st of corner. FO. Weave in ends.
