Starting the Snowflake
Make a magic ring
Round 1: Cluster of Chain 3 (counts as 1 DC) and 1 DC, CH2, *2DC cluster, CH2* repeat from * to * 10 more times, end up with SlSt in the top of 3rd CH from beginning. You will have 12 groups of "2DC clusters" placed in the magic ring.
Round 2: SlSt in the next 2 ST from the previous row to move into the middle of the first chain sp. 1 SC *CH5, 1 SC in the next CH sp* repeat from * to * 11 more times, end up with SlSt in the 1st SC. You will have 12 groups of "CH5" placed between CH sp from the previous row.
Round 3: SlSt in next 2 ST from the previous row to move into the middle of the first chain sp. *1 SC, CH12, 1 SC in the same CH sp, CH5 to move to the next CH sp, 2 SC in the next CH sp, CH5 to move to the next CH sp* repeat from * to * 4 more times. The last sequence: 1 SC, CH12, 1 SC in the same CH sp, CH5 to move to the next CH sp, 2 SC in the next CH sp, 2 CH, 1 DC placed into the 1st SC at the beginning. You will have 6 groups of "CH12" around.
Round 4: *In the CH12 sp work 6 DC, CH1, 6 DC, in the next CH sp work 1 SC, then CH5 to move to the next CH sp, in that next CH sp work 1 SC.* Repeat from * to * 4 more times. The last sequence: in the CH12 sp work 6 DC, CH1, 6 DC, in the next CH sp work 1 SC, then CH2 and 1 DC placed into the 1st DC at the beginning. You will have 6 groups around.
Round 5: CH4 (counts as 1 TR) CH2, 1 TR in the same CH sp, CH5, 1 SC in the next CH sp, CH5, *1 TR in the next CH sp, CH2, 1 TR in the same CH sp, CH5, 1 SC in the next CH sp, CH5.* Repeat from * to * 4 more times, end up with SlSt into the 4th CH from the beginning. You will have 6 groups of 2 TR "v" around.
Round 6: CH3 (counts as 1 DC) *1 DC into each ST from the previous row until you reach the top of the snowflake, then work 3 DC into the SC from the previous row, then again only 1 DC into each ST.* Repeat from * to * until the end of the row, end up with SlSt in the 3rd CH from the beginning.
Round 7 - Ending (Optional): Change the color - I used red and green. CH1 (counts as 1 SC) *1 SC into each ST from the previous row until you reach the end of the row.*
Cut the yarn and fasten off.
