You will be working a series of crochet stitches around the chain stitches in the row below that was created by the CH 2. Once you get going, this is a nice crochet project to do if you don’t want a lot of counting.

This pattern is a one row repeat throughout.

This pattern is written in U S Crochet Terms.

Crochet Border Instructions

Turn your work just as you have for each row. Using the White yarn work the sober granny stitches around each side of the blanket.

Pull up a loop in the corner right where you left off. Work the (SC, CH 2, 4 DC) in the SC SP. Skip to the next SC SP and work the sober granny stitch cluster. On the sides, work one sober granny cluster for each row. When you get to the bottom row, I worked the sober granny cluster into the same CH ST where the stitches were worked in the first row. Continue working up the last side. Join with a SL ST to the first SC. Turn

Row 2

CH 1 (Does not count as a ST). Work the (SC, CH 2, 4 DC) in the same SP. Skip to the next CH 2 SP and continue working the sober granny stitch cluster all the way around. When you get back to the starting point, join with a SL ST into the first SC. Then do one more SL ST into the 2nd CH of the first CH 2 of the previous row.

Cut the yarn leaving a long tail, about 12-inches. Pull the yarn through the last stitch.

Use the yarn needle to weave the yarn through the crochet stitches to secure.
