Crochet Anemone Flowers: A Guide to Creating Beautiful Yarn Blooms

You need a 4mm hook and small amounts of 3 different colours of DK yarn:

• Black for round 1 (the centre of the flower)
• Yellow or white for round 2
• Red, pink, purple or blue for round 3 (the petals)

Using DK yarn and a 4mm hook:

1. Chain 3, join with a slip stitch into a ring.
2. Round 1: ch2, make 11tc into ring, slip stitch to join (12sts).
3. Round 2: ch1, make 1dc in each stitch all around, slip stitch to join (12sts).
4. Round 3: ch2, 4tc into same stitch, 1dc into next stitch, *5tc into next stitch, 1dc into next stitch, continue around, slip stitch to join (there should be 6 petals).

Using DK yarn and a 4mm hook:

1. Chain 4, join with a slip stitch into a ring.
2. Round 1: ch2, make 13tc into ring, slip stitch to join (14sts).
3. Round 2: ch1, make 1dc in each stitch all around, slip stitch to join (14sts).
4. Round 3: ch2, 4tc into same stitch, 1dc into next stitch, *5tc into next stitch, 1dc into next stitch, continue around, slip stitch to join (there should be 7 petals).

I made these with yellow or orange for round 1 (the centre of the flower).

• Yellow, orange or white for round 2.
• Peach, pink, lemon or white for round 3 (the petals).
