Meet Edwina: A Life Filled with Love, Crochets, and Cats
About Edwina
I'm Edwina. I live in an old house in the country in a town that, if you blink, you literally miss it!
My Career
I'm a retired LPN. I did 20+ years as a long-term care charge nurse.
My Family
I'm single and live with my cat Alex, and a mini long-haired Dachshund/Yorkie mix named Buckaroo Bonzai.
I also took in an outside dumped kitty, who has given me 13 kids, grandkids, and great grands! My Hobbies
I learned to crochet at an early age from my great-aunt Lizzie! We made dollies. I can't see food enough now to do dollies, but I create potholders, dishcloths, and afghans.
My Precious Grandchildren
I have a daughter and two precious grands. Twins, both boys. So precious!
Purpose of Crochet
I crochet to keep myself busy and hopefully out of trouble... lol.

I have a simple question… What does the word «relief» mean when a pattern says. «relief» socks or «relief» jacket or «relief» for different patterns?

THANK YOU FOR ACCESS TO SO MANY FABULOUS STITCH, & project PATTERNS! A pattern for everyone. Beginner to advanced skills. I'm sharing a piece of my knitting story here. Read on if you like. I believe working with yarn is in every nursing curriculum as an option class. I town a former LPN, to RN, to BN, & finally MSN. (needed to have a master's degree to teach… my dream career). My first taste of yarn work came in the NICU. Before ventilators were SOP & abundantly available. One nurse crocheted hats for the premature babes. On breaks, we would knit or crochet these tinny hats used to keep heat loss at a minimum, even when in incubators. Now some years (30+) later. Knitting has become once more an activity for mindful awareness. It calms the minds of many as we cope with COVID19. Soooo! ONCE A NURSE ALWAYS A NURSE. Following simple actions. YOU CAN SAVE LIFES. We will only come through these perilous times, if we adhere to careful ✋ washing. Use a face cover (mask) whenever you meet people WHO DON'T LIVE WITH YOU! Use mindful social distancing. PLEASE STAY HOME 🏡 if you feel sick. Get to a hospital if you have early symptoms associated with COVID19. Hope for better times, always… Remember to stay safe.
