Easy Jute Hemp Crochet Coaster Pattern

Finished Size: Each coaster measures about 4″ wide.
Materials
- Jute Hemp Rope Twine Cord: Approximately 15 yards for one coaster.
- Small amount of medium-weight worsted yarns for edging: Approximately 2 or 3 yards for one coaster. (Various color scrap yarns can be used)
- 7/4.5 mm crochet hook
- Yarn needle for weaving ends
- Scissors
Gauge
Gauge is not very important for this pattern.
Abbreviations and Special Stitches
- ch = chain
- sl st = slip stitch
- sc = single crochet
- hdc = half double crochet
- st(s) = stitch(es)
- *to; = repeat * to; the instructions.

Crab stitch or Reverse Single Crochet.

Follow these instructions to create your jute hemp crochet coasters:
Instructions
Make a magic ring with jute hemp cord.
Round 1
ch 2 (does count as st), 12 hdc into the ring, sl st to the beg ch 2 top. (12 sts)
Round 2
ch 2 (does count as st), 2 hdc in each st around, sl st to the beg ch 2 top. (24 sts)
Round 3
ch 2 (does count as st), hdc in the same ch 2 top, *2 hdc in next st, hdc in next st; repeat * to around, sl st to the beg ch 2 top. (36 sts)
Edging
Using scrap yarn, work the crab stitch around the round.
Join the selected scrap yarn, work in reverse, ch 1, *insert the hook in the back (reverse) st, yo, pull back through the stitch, yo, pull through the 2 loops on the hook; repeat * to around. Fasten off and weave in ends.
