The quantity of stitches is a multiple of 22 + 12 + 2 selvage stitches. Work according to Scheme 1, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows either according to the pattern or as indicated.
Start with 1 selvage stitch, pattern repeat, finish with stitches before arrow and 1 selvage stitch. Repeat 1st-38th rows once, then repeat 11th-38th rows.Leaf Pattern
Follow Scheme 2, which includes both RS and WS rows. Make 7 stitches out of cross yarn (1st row). Repeat 1st-10th rows. Combine the remaining stitches in the 10th row with the next stitch as broaching.
Pattern of Leaves
The quantity of stitches is a multiple of 10 + 2 selvage stitches. Work according to Scheme 3, where only RS rows are stated, making WS rows as knit stitches or as indicated. Start with 1 selvage stitch and stitches before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, and finish with stitches before arrow and 1 selvage stitch. Repeat 1st-24th rows.
Stockinette Stitch
In RS row – knit stitches, in WS row – purls.
Stitches Control:
Pattern of cables: 28 stitches x 33 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
Pattern of leaves: 23 stitches x 33 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Front
Cast on 124 (146) stitches and work with the pattern of cables. At 37 cm = 122 rows (35 cm = 116 rows) from the set-up row, bind off 11 stitches from both sides for armholes, resulting in 102 (124) stitches. At 40 cm = 132 rows from the set-up row, divide the stitches for a V-shape neck-hole in half and finish both sides separately. For the chamfer, decrease 22 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row from the inside as follows: make the 6th and 5th stitches from the end of the right side as purl2tog, and on the left side, make 5th and 6th stitches as purl2tog. At 54 cm (= 178 rows) from the set-up row, bind off the outer 24 (35) stitches of the shoulder from each side and leave the remaining 5 stitches from both sides.
Back
Begin in the same way as the front, but at 51 cm = 168 rows from the set-up row, bind off the central 24 stitches for a round neck-hole and make 2 x 2 stitches together as knit2tog in cables, finishing both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 24 (35) stitches of the shoulder from each side at the height of the front.
Sleeves
Cast on 52 (62) stitches and work using the leaf pattern. Simultaneously, increase 13 x 1 stitch in every 12th row from both sides for sleeve chamfers, resulting in 78 (88) stitches. Include the increased stitches in the pattern. At 51.5 cm = 170 rows from the set-up row, bind off all stitches.
Assembly
Make shoulder seams. For the placket of the back neck-hole, return the previously left 5 stitches of the front to work on both sides and make 12 cm of stockinette stitch. Then, bind off the stitches, sew the short sides of the plackets, and attach the placket to the back neck-hole. Fasten the neck-hole with 1 circle row of single crochets and 1 circle row of “shrimp stitch.” Attach the sleeves, and then make side and sleeve seams.
