You’ll need: 

Rico Creative Cotton Aran Yarn in:

Smokey Orange 72

Nature 60

Silver Grey 22

Pearl Grey 52

Sand 59

Crochet hook 4 mm;

Scissors;

Tape measure;

Darning needle;

Fiberfill

Twine.

Stitches control: 6 hdc = 1”.

Size: 4.5″ H x 4″ W

Instructions

Pumpkin

Ch 19.

SC into the 2nd ch, SC 4 more times, HDC for 8, 5SC to end of row.

Ch 1, 5 SC, 8 HDC, 5 SC.

Rep the previous row until the piece measures 6″ in length.

Fold the piece in half and crochet the two ends together using SC into each of the stitches.

Pull the final st through and leave a length of yarn to finish.

Thread the darning needle and do a running stitch through the sides and pull tight to gather up.

Close the hole and secure it.

Turn the pumpkin the right side out and stuff with the fiberfill.

Once it has been stuffed – thread your needle again and do another running stitch through the top of the pumpkin and pull tight to close.

Secure and weave in any loose ends.

Cut a long length of yarn and thread through the top of the pumpkin.

Tie around the pumpkin, into the grooves about 4 times to get the pumpkin into shape. (See the video in this post for help).

Tighten it as much as you can before you finish and move to space them into place if needed.

Weave in the loose ends.

Stalk Base

(In Sand)

Ch 2, 6 SC in 2nd ch from hook.

2 SC in each st around.

SC in each st around.

Secure and leave a long length of yarn for stitching to the pumpkin.

Stalk

(In Sand)

Ch 7, SC in 2nd ch from hook, SC in each ch.

Leave yarn tails and attach to the stalk base.

Then stitch the stalk base to the top of the pumpkin.

The curly bit of the stalk

(In Sand)

Ch 20

Turn, 2 SC in each st.

Cut yarn and secure.

Stitch to the pumpkin base.

Use the top loop to curl into shape.

Making Up

Once you have your pumpkin stuffed and finished, the stalk base, the stalk and the curly bit of the stalk, here is how they all fit together;

Stitch the stalk base to the top of the pumpkin.

Stitch the stalk to the centre of the stalk base.

Then stitch the curly bit of the stalk to the stalk base also.
