Crochet Patterns: Using Double Crochets and Relief Stitches

Introduction

The quantity of stitches is a multiple of 2 plus 3 chain stitches increase.

Set-Up Row

Subsequent Rows

2nd row: 1 chain stitch, single crochet in each stitch.

4th row: 1 chain stitch, single crochet in each stitch.

Row 5

5th row (make in checkerboard order): 3 chain stitches, * 1 double crochet in right side relief treble crochet, 1 right side relief treble crochet through double crochet of the 3rd row *.

Repeating Rows

Repeat from 2nd to 5th rows for the desired pattern.
