Crocheting the Flower-Bud Pattern with Rib and Slip Stitches

Introduction
This pattern consists of a repeat of 4 rows. The 1st and 3rd rows alternate between rib and slip stitches, while the 2nd and 4th rows consist only of slip stitches.
Note that all stitches should be crocheted only through the back loop!
Materials Required
You will need:
- 23 chain stitches
- 3 rib stitches
- 4 flower-bud stitches
- 4 stitches between flower-buds
- 1 chain stitch increase at the end
Row Instructions
1st Row (Right-Side)
Start by making 1 slip stitch in the 2nd chain stitch from the crochet hook. Then, continue with slip stitches in the next 2 stitches.
Next, create a flower-bud as follows:
- 1 single crochet in the next stitch
- 1 chain stitch
- Find the front "stem" of the previous single crochet and yarn over, inserting the crochet hook into this left front "stem".
- Catch the yarn and pull it through 2 stitches on the crochet hook (leaving 2 stitches on the hook).
- Yarn over once more, insert the crochet hook into the same place (through the back loop of the single crochet), pull the yarn, catch it again, and pull it through 3 stitches on the crochet hook (leaving 2 stitches uncrocheted, which indicate a half double crochet).
- Skip 1 stitch (for the 1st row - 1 chain stitch).
- Insert the crochet hook into the next stitch, pull the yarn (which means you will now have 3 stitches on the crochet hook), and catch the yarn to pull it through all 3 stitches on the hook.
- Make a single crochet in the next stitch.
Complete with 4 slip stitches, followed by another flower-bud, then finish with 4 slip stitches for the interval, and finally, 3 slip stitches for the rib.
2nd Row (Wrong-Side)
Begin with 1 chain stitch increase, then work slip stitches until the end of the row. You should have a total of 22 slip stitches. Be sure to make a slip stitch in the last stitch of the row, which is the 1st chain stitch increase of the previous row.
3rd Row
Start with a chain stitch increase, then make 3 slip stitches for rib, followed by 4 slip stitches for the interval, 4 slip stitches, a flower-bud, and finish with 3 slip stitches for rib.
4th Row
This row should be identical to the 2nd row.
Repeating the Pattern
Continue to repeat the 1st to 4th rows to complete your crocheted flower-bud pattern.
