Zigzag Pattern

The quantity of stitches is multiple of 16 + 3 + 2 selvedge stitches.

Work according to the scheme, with only RS rows stated; make WS rows according to the ornament. Yarn overs should be made in the 2^nd and 6^th rows as purls, and in the 4^th and 8^th rows as knit stitches.

Start with 1 selvedge stitch and stitches before the pattern repeat, include the pattern repeat, and finish with 1 selvedge stitch.

Repeat the 1^st-8^th rows;

Pattern for the Yoke

The quantity of stitches is multiple of 16.

Work in the same way as the zigzag pattern, but with circular rows, repeating only the stitches of the pattern repeat. In even rows, make stitches according to the ornament; in the 2^nd and 6^th rows, make yarn overs as knit stitches, and in the 4^th and 8^th rows as purls.

Repeat the 1^st-8^th rows.

Stripes Order

8 rows of white yarn, 8 rows of blue yarn, 8 rows of light-blue yarn, 8 rows of yellow yarn, 8 rows of yellow-green yarn.

Note

For M size, start with 8 rows of yellow-green yarn.

Stitches Control

Zigzag pattern: 18 stitches x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back/Front

Cast on 85 (101) stitches with the criss-cross method using white yarn and work with the zigzag pattern according to the stripes order.

In 36.5 cm = 80 rows (40 cm = 88 rows) from the set-up row, bind off 10 stitches from both sides for armholes and leave the remaining 65 (81) stitches.

Yoke

Cast on 47 stitches with white yarn and circular knitting needles for the left sleeve, make 65 (81) stitches according to the ornament of the front, cast on 47 stitches for the right sleeve, and make 65 (81) stitches according to the ornament of the back. Knit all 224 (256) stitches with the yoke pattern according to the stripes order, starting with the 2^nd circular row = 14 (16) pattern repeats.

For better fitting, make knit5tog instead of knit3tog in the 11^th, 19^th, and 27^th rows in every pattern repeat = 140 (160) stitches.

In the 33^rd circular row in every pattern repeat, knit the 2^nd and 3^rd stitches together from the end as knit = 126 (144) stitches.

In the 35^th circular row in every pattern repeat, make knit5tog instead of knit3tog = 98 (112) stitches.

In the 41^st circular row in every pattern repeat, knit the last 2 stitches together as knit stitch = 84 (96) stitches.

Note: for size M, knit4tog instead of knit3tog in every pattern repeat = 84 (88) stitches.

In 22 cm = 48 circular rows (23.5 cm = 52 circular rows) from the beginning of the yoke, bind off the stitches of the yoke as knit stitches.
