Easy Crochet Tunic Pattern for Kids Aged 5-6 Years Using Bright Orange Yarn

You’ll Need:

3.5 skeins of bright-orange yarn (50% cotton, 50% viscose; 375m/75g);

A little bit of the same yarn, but in light-orange color;

Crochet hook 2.

Size:

5-6 years.

Note

Work from up to down.

Instructions

Make 50 chain stitches and work with the pattern according to the scheme. Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows 14 times, making increases of ½ shell in every row from both sides.

At the same time, make 70 chain stitches for the back in the 13th row and continue work according to the pattern around.

15th-23rd rows: Work 4th-5th rows according to the scheme;

24th-31st rows: Work 6th-7th rows according to the scheme, making the last 2 rows as 9th and 10th rows of the scheme.

Assembly

For straps, make 2 cords of 30 chain stitches and 2 cords of 60 chain stitches. Fasten each cord with 1 row of double crochets.

Join the long cords to the front part of the tunic, and sew the short cords to the ends of the straps. Fasten the upper inner part of straps with 1 row of “shrimp stitch” using light-orange yarn.

Make “shells” along the outer side of straps: 1 single crochet (1 double crochet, 1 treble crochet, 1 double crochet) in 1st stitch, followed by 1 single crochet.

Fasten the “shells” and edge the strap, neck-hole, and bottom of the tunic with 1 row of picot.

Make a cord of 150 chain stitches, insert it along the belt of the tunic, and decorate the ends with wooden beads.
