How to Create Adorable Crochet Planes

You’ll Need:

Yarn: Aqua, light blue, navy, blue, light green;

Felt: white, light blue, navy blue;

Crochet hook 4 mm;

Tapestry needle;

Fiberfill;

Glue;

Mobile base and extra yarn or cord.

Instructions

Make 4 planes.

Body

Working in spiral. Mark first stitch of every round if you wish, moving the stitch marker every round to keep track of first stitch.

Rnd 1: sc 6 times in adjustable loop (6 sc)

Rnd 2: [2 sc in ea sc] around (12 sc)

Rnd 3: [2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc] around (18 sc)

Rnd 4: [2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc] around (24 sc)

Rnd 5-20: [sc in ea sc] around (24 sc)

Rnd 21: [2 sc tog, sc in next 2 sc] around (18 sc) Stuff

Rnd 22: [2 sc tog, sc in next sc] around (12 sc)

Rnd 23: [sc 2 tog] around (6 sc)

Top Tail Fin

Joining to first st after every round with sl st, Ch1.

Rnd 1: sc 6 times in adjustable loop (6 sc)

Rnd 2: 2 sc in first sc, [sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] twice, sc in last sc (9 sc)

Rnd 3-4: [sc in ea sc] around (9 sc)

Wing

(make 2 for each plane)

Joining to first st after every round with slip st, Ch 1.

Rnd 1: sc 6 times in adjustable loop (6 sc)

Rnd 2: 2 sc in first sc and in each sc around (12 sc)

Rnd 3: [sc in ea sc] around (12 sc)

Rnd 4: 2 sc in first sc, [sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] 5 times, sc in last sc (18 sc)

Rnd 5-8: [sc in ea sc] around (18 sc)

Helix and Windows

Cut felt.

Cut 6 white circles, one color circle, and one color helix for each plane. The white circle will be windows.

Finishing

Sew wings to the sides of the plane body, and the top tail fin at the back of the plane using a tapestry needle. Glue 3 windows on each side of the plane and glue the helix to the front of the plane to a mobile base (this can be built by forming a + sign with two pieces of wood like popsicle sticks).
