You’ll Need:

1300g of yarn (75% acryl, 20% mohair, 5% Alpaca; 70m/50g);

Knitting needles 6.5mm.

Size:

95 x 210 cm.

Used Patterns:

Stockinette Stitch:

In right-side rows – knit stitches, in wrong-side rows – purls.

Garter Stitch:

All knit stitches.

“Rice” Pattern:

1st row: 1 knit stitch, 1 purl;

2nd row: purls above knit stitches, knit stitches above purls.

“Braids-Cables” Pattern:

Knitting according to the scheme.

Main Pattern “Rhombs”:

Knitting according to the scheme.

Stitches Control:

On the “rice” pattern: 12 stitches x 19 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Abbreviations:

Crossing of 6 stitches to right: Slip 3 stitches to the auxiliary needle, yarn is behind work, knit 3, knit 3 from the auxiliary needle.

Crossing of 6 stitches to left: Slip 3 stitches to the auxiliary needle, yarn is in front of work, knit 3, knit 3 from the auxiliary needle.

Crossing of 3 stitches to right in 1 purl: Slip 1 stitch to the auxiliary needle, yarn is behind work, knit 3, 1 purl, 1 from the auxiliary needle as knit.

Crossing of 3 stitches to left in 1 purl: Slip 1 stitch to the auxiliary needle, yarn is in front of work, knit 3, 1 purl, 1 from the auxiliary needle as knit.

Crossing of 3 stitches to right in 1 knit stitch: Slip 1 stitch to the auxiliary needle, yarn is behind work, knit 3, 1 from the auxiliary needle as knit.

Crossing of 3 stitches to left in 1 knit stitch: Slip 1 stitch to the auxiliary needle, yarn is in front of work, knit 3, 1 knit stitch, 3 from the auxiliary needle.

Crossing of 1 stitch to left in 2 knit stitches: Slip 1 stitch to the auxiliary needle, yarn is in front of work, knit 2, 1 from the auxiliary needle as knit.

Instructions:

Cast on 140 stitches and work as described: 8 stitches of “rice” pattern, 5 stitches of fancy rib, 3 stitches of “braids” pattern, 5 stitches of fancy rib, 26 stitches of “rhombs” pattern, 5 stitches of fancy rib, 3 stitches of “braids” pattern, 5 stitches of fancy rib, 20 stitches of “rice” pattern, 5 stitches of fancy rib, 3 stitches of “braids” pattern, 5 stitches of fancy rib, 26 stitches of “rhombs” pattern, 5 stitches of fancy rib, 3 stitches of “braids” pattern, 5 stitches of fancy rib, 8 stitches of “rice pattern”.

After knitting the afghan to 23 cm (= 44 rows), follow the description in the places of “rice” pattern: * 2 rows of stockinette stitch, 6 rows of garter stitch, 2 rows of stockinette stitch, 50 rows of “rice” pattern*; repeat from * to * to the needed height.

After making 398 rows (= 210 cm) and completing the 12th row of “rhombs” pattern, finish your work and bind off all the stitches.
