How to Make a Heart-Shaped Collage Using Old Magazines

You'll Need
Gather the following materials:
- Old magazines
- Glue stick
- Scissors
- Cardboard
Instructions
Step One
Go through the magazine and pull out pages with solid colors that are at least 2 inches wide.
Step Two
Pull out pages with colorful images that will be used for the heart-shaped pieces.
This will make a perfect 2″ square for a background! Think of 2″ squares as you sort through the magazine for background images.Step Three
Cut out 25 2″ squares for a 10 x 10 collage.
Step Four
Cut out 25 hearts from the patterned images. Look for colorful images that can serve as lively heart pieces, like a vintage mug for example!
Step Five
Complete your collection with 25 backgrounds and 25 hearts. You can use a paper punch for the hearts or make a template, or even cut the hearts freehand for a more rustic touch in the collage.
Step Six
Glue down all the pieces. You can use a 10 x 10 gallery-wrapped canvas, but alternative surfaces can include mat board, canvas board, or cardboard. Use a glue stick to attach each heart to its background and rubber cement to secure the backgrounds to the canvas.
