Knitting a Colorful Hat for Babies

Size
6 - 12 - 24 - 48 months
You'll Need
- 100g of cotton yarn in red color
- 30g of cotton yarn in green color
- Circle knitting needles size 3
Instructions
This hat is knitted in circular rows. Start by casting on:
- 96 sts for size 6 months
- 108 sts for size 12 months
- 120 sts for size 24 months
- 132 sts for size 48 months
Knit with red yarn for:
- 13 rows for size 6 months
- 17 rows for size 12 months
- 20 rows for size 24 months
- 25 rows for size 48 months
Next, knit according to the scheme and add the green yarn for:
- 12 rows for all sizes
Start knitting the top of your hat with the green color. After the 1st row of the green color top, begin making decreases in every 2nd row:
- 8 sts for size 6 months
- 9 sts for size 12 months
- 10 sts for size 24 months
- 11 sts for size 48 months
This will reduce the stitches to:
- 48 sts for size 6 months
- 54 sts for size 12 months
- 50 sts for size 24 months
- 55 sts for size 48 months
Continue making decreases in each row:
- 8 sts for size 6 months
- 9 sts for size 12 months
- 10 sts for size 24 months
- 11 sts for size 48 months
Knit with green color for:
- 10 rows for size 6 months
- 10 rows for size 12 months
- 12 rows for size 24 months
- 12 rows for size 48 months
Make decreases until there are 4-5 sts left on the knitting needle. Create a 3 cm "tail". Finally, bind off the stitches to complete your hat.
