  • Double Crochet (dc)
  • Space (sp)
  • Skip (sk)
  • Foundation Double Crochet (fdc)
  • Back Loop Only (blo)

Size

Fits a 19-20 inch head (Youth to Adult)

Easily adjustable - 4 ch = 1 inch, 1 row = 1 inch

Notes

  • Ch3 Counts as a dc
  • ch1 does not count as a stitch.
  • Join with a slip stitch.

Instructions

RND 1: Starting at the Band Portion - Ch 6, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, and in each ch across, turn, ch1 (5 sc)

RND 2: Blo, 1 sc in each sc, turn, ch 1 (5 sc)

RND 3: Repeat RND 2

To make the headband smaller or bigger, add or subtract rows in 2-row increments. Put the ends of the band together and sc (single crochet) the ends.

RND 67: We will be stitching across the top of the band, ch3. Place 1 dc in the end of each row around, join (66 dc)

RND 68: Ch3, 1 dc in the next dc, *ch2, sk 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 2 dc* Repeat From * to * around, join (66 sts)

RND 69: Slst to the 1st ch2 sp, ch3, 1 dc in that same sp, *ch2, 2 dc in the next ch2 sp* Repeat From * to * around, join (66 sts)

RND 70: Repeat RND 69

If you want the headband wider, continue to Repeat RND 69.

RND 72: Ch3, 1 dc in the next st, 1 dc in each ch2 sp and dc around, join. (66 dc)

RND 73: Ch3, *fpdc in the next dc, 1 dc in the next dc* Repeat From * to * around, join, tie off, weave in your ends.
