Materials Needed
Vine: (4.5 mm hook)
Instructions
Creating the Vine
Make a chain to your desired length; I made it about 200 chains because I wanted it nice and long.
Sc in the next 2 stitches.
Large Leaf
Ch 12, sl st in the second chain from the hook, sc in the next 2 stitches, dc in the next 3 stitches, trc in the next 3 stitches, dc, sc and sl st in the same space, ch 1.
Work along the other side of the 12 chains:
Sl st and sc in the same space, dc, trc in the next 3 stitches, dc in the next 3 stitches, sc in the next 2 stitches, sl st, ch 1, 12 sl st down the back of the leaf to join to the main foundation chain.
Sc into chain and in the next 3 stitches.
Small Leaf
Ch 6, sl st in 2nd chain from the hook, sc in the next 2 stitches, dc in the next, sc and sl st in the same stitch, ch 1 and work along the other side of the 6 chains.
Sl st and sc in the same space, dc in the next, sc in the next 2, sl st, chain 1, sl st 6 down the back of the leaf to meet the foundation chain, sc to join to chain and sc in the next 3 stitches.
Repeat, alternating between the large and small leaf, and repeat the process up the other side of the foundation chain to make it nice and thick.
Creating the Flower
Flower: (3mm hook)
Colour A
R1 6 sc in ring.
R2 (front loops only) Ch 5 sc in 2nd chain from hook, hdc in next, sc in next 2, sc to join, repeat until you have 6 small petals.
R3 (Change to Colour B) 6 sc in back loops of round 2.
R4 Sc, ch 3, repeat until you have 6 loops of ch 3.
R5 (in each ch 3 space) 2 dc, 2 trc, 1 dt, chain 3, sl st in the 1st chain from hook, 1 dt, 2 trc, 2 dc, sl st (repeat until you have 6 petals). FO.
Arrange in any way you like; the pattern is a little bit fiddly but worth it for the end result.
