- Peaches & Cream 100% Cotton (Cotton absorbs moisture better than yarn)
- Button or Velcro for fastening
- H Hook
Instructions for Creating the Crochet Cotton Baby Bib
Body of the Bib
Row 1: ch 17, 1 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 hdc in each ch across, ch 2 turn (16 hdc)
Row 2: 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in each st across, 2 hdc in last st, ch 2 turn (18 hdc)
Row 3: 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in each st across, 2 hdc in last st, ch 2 turn (20 hdc)
Row 4: 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in each st across, 2 hdc in last st, ch 2 turn (22 hdc)
Row 5: 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in each st across, 2 hdc in last st, ch 2 turn (24 hdc)
Row 6: 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in each st across, 2 hdc in last st, ch 2 turn (26 hdc)
Row 7-15: 1 hdc in each st across, ch 2 turn (26 sts)
Row 16: 1 hdc in next 6 sts, ch 2 turn
Row 17-26: Repeat row 16
Row 27: 1 hdc decrease in next 2 sts, (repeat 2 times) (3 sts)
Row 28: 1 hdc in each st across, fasten off
Second Strap
Row 29: locate on row 16 with front left side facing you, 1 hdc in last 6 sts
Row 30-38: 1 hdc in each st across, ch 2 turn (6 sts)
Row 39: 1 hdc decrease over next 2 sts, 1 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next st, 1 hdc decrease over last 2 sts, ch 2 turn (4 sts plus ch 2)
Row 40: 1 hdc in each of next 2 sts, ch 1, 1 hdc in each of last 2 sts, fasten off
Finishing Touches
TRIM: Attach with sc to bottom right corner of front of bib, sc in each st across, {2 sc in each corner}, 1 sc up side, across front, up other strap, down side, 1 hdc in beginning st, join & fasten off.
Sew on a button on the right strap of the bib. (You can use small Velcro to close straps if desired.)
