  • Cl – Cluster: Yo, insert hook in designated st or sp, draw up loop, Yo, draw through 2 loops, Yo, insert in st or sp, pull up loop, Yo, draw through 3 loops, Yo, draw through 2 loops, ch 1, Yo, insert in st or sp, pull up loop, Yo, draw through 2 loops, Yo, insert in st or sp, pull up loop, Yo, draw through 3 loops, Yo, draw through 2 loops.

Tips

  • By joining around instead of in the top of the beginning sts, you will make them shape into a fpdc.
  • Carry your yarn up the hat when changing colors.
  • When changing colors, join with the next color in the joining st.
  • You will be working in the round.

Instructions

Ch 80, Join with sl st to form a ring. Be very careful not to twist your chain.

Color A

Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc now and throughout), *sk st, cluster in next st, sk st, dc in next st*, repeat *to* around. Join with sl st (using next color) “around” beginning ch 3. = 20 dc & 20 clusters

Color B

Round 2: Ch 3, *cluster in ch 1 sp of previous row cluster, fpdc around next fpdc of previous round*, Repeat *to* around, cluster in last ch 1 sp, join with sl st (using next color) “around” beginning ch 3. = 20 fpdc & 20 clusters.

Rounds 3-13: Repeat round 2, changing colors every round.

Edging

Round 1: Ch 1, work rev sc around, join with sl st to beginning. Finish off.

Round 2: Join with sl st in any st of beginning ch on opposite end. Ch 1, rev sc around, join with sl st to beginning. Finish off.
