Note: This square is made by working in the back backloop of each stitch (when specified). This leaves both the regular loops free to create a ridge.

Rnd 2: Ch2, 2 dc in the bb of each of the 8dc, join with sl st to first dc. (16dc)

Round 3

Rnd 3: Ch2, 2 dc in the bb of each of the 16dc, join with sl st to first dc. (32dc)

Round 4

Rnd 4: Ch2, 1 dc in the bb of first dc, 2 dc in bb of next dc, [1 dc in bb of the next dc, 2dc in bb of next dc]. Do this 15 times, join with sl st to first dc. (48dc)

Round 5

Rnd 5: Ch1, 1 sc in bb of first dc, 1 hdc in bb of each of the next 2 sts, 1 dc in bb of each of the next 2 sts, (1 dc, ch2, 1 dc) all in bb of next st, [1 dc in bb of each of the next 2 sts, 1 hdc in bb of each of the next 2 sts, 1 sc in bb of the next 3 sts, 1 hdc in bb of each of the next 2 sts, 1 dc in bb of each of the next 2 sts, (1 dc, ch2, 1dc) all in bb of next st]. Do this 3 times, 1 dc in bb of each of the next 2 sts, 1 hdc in bb of each of the next 2 sts, 1 sc in bb of the next 2 sts, join with sl st to first sc. (52sts total) (13sts on each side)

Round 6

Rnd 6: Ch2. 1 dc in same st as joining, 1 dc in next st, 1 dc in bb of each of the next 4 sts, (2 dc, ch2, 2 dc) all in ch2 space, [1 dc in bb of each of the next 4 sts, 1 dc in each of the next 5 sts, 1dc in bb of each of the next 4 sts, (2dc, ch2, ch2) all in ch2 space]. Do this 3 times, 1 dc in bb of each of the next 4 sts, 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, join with sl st to first dc. (68sts total) (17sts on each side)

Round 7

Rnd 7: Ch1, hdc in same st as joining, 1 hdc in each of the next 4 sts, 1 hdc in bb of each of the next 3 sts, (2 hdc, ch2, 2 hdc) all in next ch2 space, [1 hdc in bb of each of the next 3 sts, 1 hdc in each of the next 11 sts, 1 hdc in bb of each of the next 3 sts, (2hdc, ch2, 2hdc) all in next ch2 space]. Do this 3 times, 1 hdc in bb of each of the next 3 sts, 1 hdc in each of the next 6 sts, join with sl st to first hdc. (84sts total) (21sts on each side)

Finish off and weave in ends.
