How to Crochet a Mélange Bag: Step-by-Step Instructions

You’ll Need:

120 g of black 100% acryl yarn;

50 g of the same yarn, but in crimson color;

40 g of the same yarn, but in pink color;

Crochet hooks: 1.5, 4, and 6.

Instructions

Bottom

Make it with mélange yarn: twist 1 thread of each color yarn. Take crochet hook 6 and make 29 chain stitches. Then, work according to the scheme 1.

Upper Part

Make 90 chain stitches with mélange yarn and crochet hook 6 and work according to the scheme 2. Finish work at 25 cm height.

Flap

Make 25 chain stitches with black yarn in 2 threads and crochet hook 4. Work with single crochets as a straight cloth. After 7 cm long, start making decreases from both sides. Decrease 1 stitch x 3 after 1 selvedge stitch in every 2^nd row. Fasten the edges with single crochets.

Flower

Take crimson yarn and crochet hook 1.5 and work according to the scheme 3.

Make bands with 2 threads of black yarn and crochet hook 4. For this, make 7 chain stitches and crochet to 1.5 m with half-crochets.

Assembly

Make the upper detail seam and connect it with the bottom part using black yarn in 2 threads in the following way: 1 row of single crochets + 1 row of “shrimp stitch.” Then, sew the flap. Make a cord with 2 threads of black yarn and crochet hook 4. Make 100 chain stitches, drawing it through the stitches of the upper row of your work. Finally, sew the button and bands.
