Andalusian Knit Stitch

The Andalusian stitch pattern is very pretty and simple to knit. It creates a nice texture and is still simple enough to use instead of a plain Stockinette stitch pattern plus it spices things up a little.

Like garter stitch, seed stitch lies flat, making it a good edging for a sweater border and cuffs. The knitted fabric also looks the same from both sides, making it a nice choice for scarves and other pieces of which both sides are visible.

Steps to knit Andalusian Stitch:

Step 1: Cast on multiple of 2 sts plus 1 extra stitch

Step 2: 1st Row (right side): Knit

Step 3: 2nd Row: Purl

Step 4: 3rd Row: *K1, p1; repeat from * to last stitch, knit 1

Step 5: Purl

Step 6: Repeat rows 1 - 4 for pattern stitch.
