Knit Apricot Top with Stripes

You’ll need:

300 (350) 400g of yarn (77% cotton, 15% cashmere wool, 8% polyamide);

100 (100) 150g of the same yarn, but in white color;

Knitting needles 4,5;

Crochet hook 3;

Circular knitting needles 3 and 4,5;

Hat rib.

Size: S (M) L.

Used Patterns

Main pattern: start and finish every row with 1 selvage st. RS rows: insert knitting needle between the 1st and the next 2nd st, catching the yarn and draw st, make the next st as knit st*; repeat from * to *. WS rows: draw 1 st and make it together with next st as purl2tog.

Stitches control: 16,5 sts x 24,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Stripes order: *12 apricot rows, 2 white rows, 8 apricot rows, 2 white rows*; repeat from * to * x 4 times, finish with 14 apricot rows = totally, 134 rows.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 70 (78) 86 sts with apricot yarn and work with the main pattern due to stripes order. In 36,5 cm = 90 rows (35 cm = 86 rows) 33,5 cm = 82 rows from the set-up row, bind off 1 x 3 sts from both sides for arm-holes, then, 1 x 3 sts in every 2nd row, 1 x 3 sts and 1 x 2 sts and 3 x 1 st = 48 (56) 64 sts. In 53 cm = 130 rows from the set-up row, bind off the central 26 (28) 30 sts for neck-hole and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 st from inwards in the next 2nd row. At the same time in 54 cm = 132 rows from the set-up row, bind off 1 x 5 (7) 8 sts from outwards for shoulder chamfer. In 64,5 cm = 134 rows from the set-up row, bind off the rest 5 (6) 8 st sof shoulder. Make the second side in symmetry.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but with deeper neck-hole, the central 6 (8) 10 sts form neck-hole in 48 cm = 118 rows from the set-up row. For smooth rounding, bind off 2 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts, 3 x 1 st.

Assembly

Make shoulder and side seams. Fasten 1 row of slip sts with apricot yarn.
