The quantity of sts is multiple 6 + 2.

1st row (RS): knit;

2nd row: 1 edge st, *k each st wrapping yarn around needle 3 times; rep from * to last st, k1;

3rd row: 1 edge st, *C6B (slip next 3 stitch onto cable needle, dropping the wraps, and leave at back of work) k3 dropping the wraps, k3 sts from cable needle); rep from * to last st, 1 edge st;

4th row: knit.

Repeat 1st-4th rows.
