How to Create a Beautiful Crocheted Chain Stitch Pattern for Beginners

The starting chain is made in a multiple of 2 plus 1 stitch.

Step 1: Chain Foundation

Chain 15.

Slip stitch in the 2nd chain from hook, then half double crochet (hdc). Repeat the pattern of [slip stitch, hdc] until the end of the row.

Chain 1 and turn.

Step 2: Repeat the Row

Repeat the pattern of [slip stitch, hdc] until the end of the row.

Continue to repeat the last row until you reach your desired length.
