You’ll need:

10 (11) 12 skeins of black yarn (100% alpaca; 127m/50g);

3 (4) 4 skeins of the same yarn, but in grey color;

3 (4) 4 skeins of the same yarn, but in light-grey color;

3 (4) 4 skeins of the same yarn, but in beige color;

3 (4) 4 skeins of the same yarn, but in light-beige color;

Crochet hooks 2,5; 4 and 4,5;

5 buttons 25 mm diameter.

 

Size: S/M (M/L) L/XL;

Chest circumference: 122 (131) 140 cm;

Length: 66 (71) 76 cm.

 

Used Patterns

2 crossed double crochets: skip 1 st, make 1 double crochet in the next st, 1 double crochet in the slipped st.

Half crochet in the lower row: yarn over, insert crochet hook in st 3 rows lower, yarn over and draw yarn, yarn and draw yarn through all 3 sts on the crochet hook.

Wavy pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 16. Make * 2 black rows, 2 stripes rows*.

1st row (black): 1 single crochet in every st;

2nd row (black): turn with the help of 1 chain st, 1 single crochet in every single crochet;

3rd row (stripe color): turn with the help of 1 chain st, * 1 single crochet in every of the first 4 sts, 2 crossed double crochets x 4 times in the next 8 sts, 1 single crochet in every of the next 4 sts*; repeat from * to *;

4th row (color as 3rd row): as 3rd row;

5th row (black): turn with the help of 1 chain st, * 2 half double crochets in the lower row, 1 single crochet in every of the next 12 sts, 2 half double crochets in the lower row*; repeat from * to *;

6th row (black): turn with the help of 1 chain st, 1 single crochet in every st;

7th row (color of the next stripe): turn with the help of 3 chain sts, * 2 crossed double crochets x twice in the next 4 sts, 1 single crochet in every of the next 8 sts, 2 crossed double crochets x twice in the next 4 sts*; repeat from * to *;

8th row (color as in the 7th row): as 7th row;

9th row (black): turn with the help of 1 chain st, * 1 single crochet in every of the next 6 sts, 4 half double crochets in the lower row, 1 single crochet in every of the next 6 sts*; repeat from * to *;

10th row (black): turn with 1 chain st, 1 single crochet in every st.

Repeat 3rd-10th rows.

Stripes order: * 2 black rows, 2 grey rows, 2 black rows, 2 beige rows, 2 black rows, 2 light-grey rows, 2 black rows, 2 light-beige rows*; repeat from * to *.

 

Stitches control: 17 sts x 17 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

 

Instructions

Make 1 st with black yarn and crochet hook 4,5 and make 45 chain sts. Turn with the help of 1 chain st increase, change to crochet hook 4 and work with wavy pattern. Note: in 32 (28) 24 rows, increase 1 st from both sides. Repeat these increases in every 4th row = totally, 9 (7) 5 rows with increases, make increases in every 2nd row = totally, 16 (20) 24 rows with increases = 80 (88) 96 sts. Totally, make 80 rows for sleeves = finish 2 rows with stripe color yarn, then, make front/back. For this, make 1 st with black yarn and make 72 (76) 80 chain sts (from one side), then, make 72 (76) 80 chain sts (from another side) = totally, 224 (240) 256 sts. Continue work with wavy pattern on all sts. In 56 (60) 64 rows form the last row of sleeve, finish 2 rows with black yarn. Make 2 rows with the next color of stripe on the first 96 (104) 112 sts = back. Make 1 st with black yarn and crochet hook 4,5 and make 128 (136) 144 chain sts for right front. Continue work on all sts to side edges. Then, make the second sleeve on the central 80 (88) 96 sts.

 

Assembly

Make sleeve and side seams, leave 16 cm open = side cuts.

Edge of work: fasten with 1 row of single crochets and 1 row of “crab stitch” with black yarn.

Button-holes: work with black yarn and crochet hook 2,5. Make 1 single crochet, 8 chain sts, 1 single crochet at 1-1,5 cm distance from the 1st, make 8 chain sts, work with “crab stitch”.
