The quantity of stitches is a multiple of 6 plus 1.

Row Instructions

1st Row (WS)

K1, *yarn forward, p1, p3 together, p1, yarn over, k1; repeat from * to end;

2nd Row

Purl;

3rd Row

K2, yarn over, slip 1, k2 together, pass slipped stitch over, yarn over, *k3, yarn over, slip 1, k2 together, pass slipped stitch over, yarn over; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, k2;

4th Row

Purl;

5th Row

Purl 2 together, p1, yarn over, k1, yarn forward, p1, *p3 together, p1, yarn over, k1, yarn forward, p1; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, purl 2 together;

6th Row

Purl;

7th Row

K2 together, yarn over, k3, yarn over, *slip 1, k2 together, pass slipped stitch over, yarn over, k3, yarn over; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, slip 1, k1, pass slipped stitch over;

8th Row

Purl.

Repeat the 1st through 8th rows for the pattern.
