The quantity of stitches is a multiple of 9 plus 2 for the selvage. For this pattern, cast on 29 stitches and knit according to the scheme.

Row Instructions

First Row

1st row: 3 purls, *3 knit stitches, 6 purls*, repeat from * to * until the end of the row, finishing with 3 purls.

Even Rows

2nd and all the even rows: as stitches face: knit stitches under knit, purls under purls.

Subsequent Rows

3rd row: repeat the 1st row.
