You’ll Need:

225 (275) 325g of white Colima yarn (80% royal mohair, 20% polyester; 100m/25g);

Straight knitting needles 4 and 4.5;

Circle knitting needles 3.5 and 4.

Size:

S (M) L.

Used Patterns:

  • 2 x 2 rib;
  • Garter stitch: all knit stitches;
  • Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit stitches, in WS row – purls;
  • Pattern with holes: the quantity of stitches is odd. RS row: * knit 2 together, 1 yarn over*; repeat from * to *, finish with 1 knit stitch, 1 selvage stitch;
  • WS row: all purls between selvage stitches;
  • Fringe: 3 rows of garter stitch, start with WS row, 2 rows of stockinette stitch, 2 rows of pattern with holes, 4 rows of garter stitch, 2 rows of stockinette stitch = 13 rows;
  • Relief pattern: the quantity of stitches is multiple of 10 + 1 + 2 selvage stitches. Work according to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated. Make WS rows and yarn overs as purls. Start with 1 selvage stitch and stitches before the pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 selvage stitch. Repeat 1st-24th rows.

Stitches Control:

17.5 stitches x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Back:

Cast on 83 (93) 103 stitches and make 4 cm (= 13 rows) with fringe. Then, work with relief pattern. In 36 cm = 102 rows (34 cm = 96 rows) 32 cm = 90 rows from fringe, bind off 3 stitches from both sides for arm-holes and 1 x 2 stitches and 5 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row = 63 (73) 83 stitches. In 53 cm (= 148 rows) from fringe, bind off the central 19 (21) 23 stitches for neck-hole and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 3 stitches, 1 x 2 stitches, 1 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row from inwards. In 56 cm (= 158 rows) from fringe, bind off the rest 16 (20) 24 stitches of shoulder from each side.

Front:

Make in the same way as back but with a deeper neck-hole. For this, in 26 cm (= 72 rows) from fringe, bind off the central 7 (9) 11 stitches, 2 x 2 stitches and 2 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row, 4 x 1 stitch in every 4th row, 2 x 1 stitch in every 6th row.

Sleeves:

Cast on 43 (53) 63 stitches and make 4 cm (= 13 rows) of fringe. Then, work with relief pattern. At the same time, increase 10 x 1 stitch (9 x 1 stitch in every 10th and 12th rows by turn) 7 x 1 stitch in every 14th row for sleeve chamfers from both sides, and include the increased stitches in the pattern = 63 (71) 77 stitches. In 38 cm (= 106 rows) from fringe, bind off 2 (3) 3 stitches from both sides for sleeve caps, 1 x 2 stitches and 6 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row, 2 x 1 stitch in every 4th row, 6 x 1 stitch and 1 x 2 (3) 4 stitches in every 2nd row. In 51.5 cm (= 144 rows) from fringe, bind off the rest 23 (27) 31 stitches.

Assembly:

Make shoulder seams. Cast on 180 (184) 188 stitches with circle knitting needles 3.5 along the neck-hole line and work with rib, making 2 purls in the center of the front. At 3 cm collar height, increase 1 stitch from both sides of the 2 central purls of front. Then, increase 7 x 1 stitch in every 2nd circle row from crossed yarn = 196 (200) 204 stitches, including the increased stitches in rib pattern. At 6 cm collar height, continue work with circle knitting needles 4, and at 13 cm height, bind off all the stitches loosely due to the ornament. Sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams.
