Introduction to Selvedge Stitches
The quantity of stitches is multiplied by 4 plus 2 selvedge stitches. Repeat 2 vertical rows for best results.
Note that selvedge stitches aren't stated on the scheme.
Row Instructions
1st Row (Right-Side)
Begin with 1 selvedge stitch, then follow these instructions:
- * 1 yarn over
- 1 broaching (slip 1 knit stitch, 1 knit stitch, draw it through the slipped stitch)
- 2 knit stitches*
Repeat from * to * until the last stitch, and finish with 1 selvedge stitch.
2nd Row (Wrong-Side)
Start with 1 selvedge stitch, and then continue with the following:
- * 1 yarn over
- purl 2 together
- 2 purl stitches*
Repeat from * to * until reaching the last stitch, and complete with 1 selvedge stitch.
