One of our users asked for a SeaWorld blanket pattern. It was difficult to find it, but finally, here you are.

You'll Need

I love this Yarn from Hobby Lobby in the following colors: Antique Teal, Peacock, Turquoise, Glacier, White, Light Taupe.

You will also need crochet hooks H and J.

Size

54″ x 66″

Blanket Instructions

To create well-defined ridges, work in back loop only (blo) in color-changing rows.

Row Instructions

Row 1 – With Antique Teal, ch 157, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 4 ch, dc2tog, dc2tog, dc in next 4 ch, 2 dc in next, *2 dc in next, dc in next 4 ch, dc2tog, dc2tog, dc in next 4 ch, 2 dc in next* repeat from * to * to end.

Row 2 – Ch 3 turn, dc in same st, dc in next 4 st, dc2tog, dc2tog, dc in next 4 st, 2 dc in next * 2 dc in next, dc in next 4 st, dc2tog, dc2tog, dc in next 4 st, 2 dc in next* repeat from * to * to end.

Row 3–103 – Repeat Row 2

Make 9. It's not necessary to make backs, as you'll attach them to the blanket. And you don't need to stuff your turtles.

Size H Hook

Gold Yarn

Make 2

Round Instructions

Round 1 – Magic circle, ch 1. 5 sc in magic circle, join with a sl st, pull tight. (5 sc)

Round 2 – ch 1, 2 sc in each st, join with a sl st.

Round 3 – *Ch 7, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 3 ch, hdc in next 2 ch, skip next sc, sl st in next sc* repeat from * to *, finish off, leaving a long tail to attach to blanket.

Assembly

Weave in all ends. Use a whip stitch to sew the baby sea turtles and starfish.

Omg that’s just a beautiful blanket!!!  The colors are so awesome and the turtles and the star fish are just amazingly done.  Would you be able to send me a video of how to make it, please that’s how I learn better or if someone shows me..lol

Minus the turtles and starfish, it's a great chevron afghan pattern which is what I am looking for. I will plan a different number of rows per color. How do you calculate how many skeins per color? Or, do you know a good source for doing that?
