Guidelines
- Mark the start of each round and then move marker as a round is completed.
- HK – hook, CH – chain, SS – slip stitch
- SC – single crochet
- HDC – half double crochet
- HDC Inc – half double crochet increase by placing 2 hdc in 1 stitch.
- HDC Dec – half double crochet decrease by yarn over hook, through 1st stitch, yarn over hook through, yarn over hook through next stitch, yarn over hook pull through, yarn over hook and pull through all the loops.
- FPHDC - front post half double crochet.
- ** - repeat the stitches within.
In rounds 2-12, you increase by placing a hdc and a fphdc into the stitch.
Rounds 13 onwards only place a fphdc in the stitch; do not place a hdc as well.
Gauge
8 sts & 7 rows = 2”. If your hat is coming out too big, go down one hook size, and vice versa if it’s too small.
Approximate Size
Approximately 23” around, which will fit most ladies.
