Pattern Instructions
RND 1: Holding 2 strands of yarn together, ch 27,
Sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, and in each ch across,
Turn, ch 1 (26 sc)
RND 2: 1 sc in each sc across, turn, ch 1 (26 sc)
RND 3: Repeat RND 2
RND 4: Repeat RND 2, (26 sc), turn to the side, place 3 sc evenly,
Turn working down the opposite side, 1 sc in each sc,
(26 sc) turn working the last end, place 3 sc, join to the 1st sc
(26 + 3 + 26 + 3 = 58 sc)
All the rows of the body of the bag have 58 stitches
RND 5: 1 sc in each sc around, join to the 1st sc, ch 1 (58 sc)
RND 6: 1 sc in each sc around, join to the 1st sc with a slst, ch 3 (58 sc)
RND 7: 1 dc in sc around, join to the ch3 with a slst, ch 1 (58 dc)
RND 8: 1 sc in each sc around, join to the 1st sc with a slst, ch 3 (58 sc)
RND 9: RND 24 - Repeat RND 7 and RND 8 for 16 more rows, Alternating every other row

RND 35: Trim – Working across the bag flap,
Sc in the 1st 14 sc, ch 12, join the same sc with a slst,
skip the next sc, (this makes the button loop)

Evenly sc up the 1st side of the bag flap,
Sc around the front edge of the bag,
Sc even down the 2nd side of the bag flap,
Join to the 1st sc with a slst, tie off and weave in your ends.
Straps
Holding 2 strands of yarn together,
Ch 100, turn, ch 1
Sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch across,
Tie off, weave in the ends.
Fold the strap in half,
Place and sew on the strap in the center back of the knapsack,
leaving a 4-6 inch loop for a handle.
With yarn and a needle, sew in place.
Place and sew on the 4 D rings, attach straps to the D rings.
Line up the button with the button loop, and sew in place.
