Edging Instructions

The edging will be worked around the main body of the lovey. In the first round, you will need to create stitches along either side. You should just space your stitches evenly along those sides.

Round 1

Place 2 sc stitches into the first st and then sc x 27 across the top. Place 3 sc stitches into the last stitch along the top. This will become a corner. Working along the side of the lovey, place 27 sc stitches, evenly spaced, along the edge. When you reach the bottom of the lovey, place 3 sc stitches in the first stitch along the bottom.

Sc x 27 across the bottom. Place 3 sc stitches into the last stitch to create the corner. Work along the final side of the lovey and place 27 sc stitches, evenly spaced along the edge. When you reach the top of the lovey, place 1 sc into the same stitch that the first 2 sc stitches were placed to create your final corner.

Round 2

Sl st in the next 4 stitches. You will now start to add your shell stitch around the edging.
