Pattern
RND 1: With Red yarn FDC 60, leaving an 8-inch tail, join in a circle, ch 3 (counts as 1st dc) (60 FDC)
I use the FDC for a nice stretchy edge. If you chose the optional start, you will not have as much stretch.
RND 2: Change to White yarn, ch 3, 1 dc in each dc, join, ch 3 (60 dc)
RND 3: Change to Red, Repeat RND 2
RND 4: Change to White yarn, Repeat RND 2
RND 5: Change to Red, Repeat RND 2
RND 6: Change to White yarn, Repeat RND 2
RND 7: Change to Red, Repeat RND 2, tie off, weave in your ends.
Sew closed the gap made on RND 1 using the 8-inch tail.
Band
RND 1: With Blue yarn Ch 17, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, and in each ch across, Ch 1, turn (16 sc)
RND 2-9: 1 sc in each sc, ch 1 turn (16 sc)
Wrap the band around the headband and slip stitch the 2 ends closed, tie off, and weave in your ends.
Star: With gold or white yarn, stitch the star on the band with 3 long stitches (see pic).
