  • Round 9: *2 sc in the next st, sc in each of the next 7 sts, rep from * around - 54 st

  • Round 11: sc in each sc, working in back loops only - 60 st
  • Round 12-13: sc in each sc - 60 st

Whipped Topping

Work in continuous rounds, back loops only using White yarn.

  • Chain 2
  • Round 1: Work 6 sc in the first chain
  • Round 2: sc in each sc - 6 st
  • Round 3: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 st
  • Round 4: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 24 st
  • Round 5: sc in each sc - 24 st
  • Round 6: sc2tog around - 12 st

Strawberry Slices

Make 3 or more.

With pink yarn, chain 6. Skip the first chain from the hook and work:

  • 2 sc
  • 1 hdc
  • 2 dc
  • Chain 2
  • sl st to center st
  • Chain 2
  • 2 dc
  • 1 hdc
  • 2 sc

Finish off with red yarn, sc around the edge of the slice; you can start at the top or the bottom.

Assembly

Sew strawberry slices to the top of the shortcake. Lightly stuff the whipped topping and sew it to the center of the top. Optionally, accent strawberry slices with 3D paint.
