Instructions:

Jacket Size: 36-40

You will need:

  • 500 g of orange variegated yarn Cinque (53% sheep wool, 47% acrylic, 135 m/50 g)
  • Hook No. 5
  • 4 buttons

Shell Stitch Pattern:

  • Number of stitches is a multiple of 18 + 1.
  • Crochet according to the chart.
  • Start each row with the stitches before the repeat, repeat the pattern, and finish with the stitches after the repeat.
  • Work once from the 1st to the 5th row, then repeat from the 2nd to the 5th row.

Gauge:

  • 16.5 sts and 9 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Note:

  • Start by crocheting both upper parts across from sleeve to center, then add the lower part from top to bottom to the upper part. The arrows on the pattern indicate the direction of crocheting.

Left Upper Part with Sleeve:

  • Start with the left sleeve.
  • Crochet a chain of 73 ch + 3 ch for turning and crochet the shell stitch pattern = 3 repeats + starting and ending stitches.
  • After 44 cm from the starting edge, add 1 repeat for the side edges of the front and back on both sides. To do this, crochet a chain of 18 ch at the end of the row, turn, and crochet it according to the pattern. At the end of the row, leave the loop, attach a separate thread to the last stitch of the previous row, crochet a chain of 18 ch, and cut the thread.
  • Now insert the hook into the left loop and crochet this chain of ch with the shell stitch pattern = 5 repeats + starting and ending stitches (this corresponds to 109 sts).
  • After 11 cm from the side edge, first crochet on the starting stitches + the first 2 1/2 repeats + 1 stitch (this corresponds to 55 sts) for the back. After 11 cm from the division, leave the stitches.
  • Now leave for the neckline the next 2 x 1/2 repeats minus 1 stitch and crochet the front on the remaining stitches. Finish the work after 6.5 cm from the division.

Right Upper Part with Sleeve:

  • Crochet symmetrically.

Lower Part:

  • Sew the central seam of the back, the side seams, and the sleeve seams.
  • Crochet the bottom edge of the fronts and back with 127 sc, then crochet the shell stitch pattern = 6 repeats + starting and ending stitches.
  • Finish the work at a length of 36 cm for the lower part.

Assembly:

  • Crochet the edges of the fronts and the neckline with 4 rows of shell stitch pattern, crocheting 6 repeats along the edges of the fronts and 5 repeats along the neckline.
  • Crochet the sleeve edges with 4 rows of shell stitch pattern.
  • Sew on the buttons. Fasten the buttons through the holes in the pattern, overcast buttonholes if necessary.
