RED HEART Super Saver Yarn: 3 skeins each: 0313 Aran, 0726 Coral
5.0 mm (US H-8) crochet hook or size needed for gauge

Crochet Afghan Pattern

Special Stitch: Shell – 7 dc in space or stitch as indicated in instructions.

Note: Afghan is crocheted in multiples of 8 plus 3 chs.

Rows Instructions

Row 1 (RS)

With Aran ch 155, dc in 4th ch from hook, ch 2, skip 2 chs, dc in next ch, *ch 2, skip 2 chs, dc in next 3 chs, ch 2, skip 2 chs, dc in next ch, repeat from * across to last 4 chs, ch 2, skip 2 chs, dc in last 2 chs, turn.

Row 2

Ch 5, sc in ch 2 space, ch 3, sc in next ch 2 space, *ch 5, sc in next ch 2 space, ch 3, sc in next ch 2 space, repeat from * across to last 2 dc, ch 2, skip 1 dc, dc in last dc, turn.

Row 3

Ch 3, 3 dc in first ch 2 space, sc in next ch 3 space, (Shell in ch 5 space, sc in next ch 3 space) across to last ch 3 space, 3 dc in last ch 2 space, dc in last dc, turn.

Row 4

Ch 1, sc in first 2 dc, ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next sc, *ch 2, skip 2 dc, sc in next 3 dc, ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next sc, repeat from * across to last 4 dc, ch 2, skip 2 dc, sc in last 2 dc, fasten off and turn.

Row 5

Join Coral in first stitch, ch 3, dc in next sc, ch 2, dc in next dc, ch 2, * dc in next 3 sc, ch 2, dc in next dc, ch 2, repeat from * across to last 2 sc, ch 2, dc in last 2 sc, turn.

Row 6

Repeat Row 2.

Work along bottom edge (2 dc, ch 4, 2 dc) in first dc, *skip 1 dc, 3 dc in ch below next dc, skip 1 dc, (2 dc, ch 4, 2 dc) in ch below next dc, repeat from * across ending (2 dc, ch 4, 2 dc) in last dc. Work along side edge matching stitches, join to beginning dc.

Round 2

Slip stitch to ch 4 space sc in same space, ch 4, *skip 2 dc, sc in space before next 3 dc, ch 3, skip 3 dc, sc in space before next 2 dc, ch 3, sc in ch 4 space, ch 3, repeat from * across ending ch 4, sc in corner ch 4 space, ch 4, repeat pattern around entire throw ending ch 4, join to beginning sc and fasten off.
