Crochet Snowman Hat Pattern

Crochet Snowman Hat Pattern

Materials:

White Chunky Yarn
Worsted Weight Yarn in an accent color (like red) and black for the top hat
Size I hook
Tapestry Needle
Poly-fil
Two medium/large size buttons (about 1″)
5 small buttons for the mouth
First lets talk about the yarns I used.
The main part of the hat (the white) uses chunky yarn. Specifically, I used Loops & Threads Charisma yarn in white. It is a 100% Acrylic Yarn, Bulky 5 weight, 3.5 oz. skein/ 109 yds. I purchased it at Michaels. This pattern will only work correctly if you use chunky yarn for the beanie and regular worsted weight yarn for the earflaps and tails. But if you are a more experienced crocheter, feel free to use other weight yarns and use this pattern as a guideline.
The earflaps, tails and pom poms and nose use Vanna’s Choice worsted weight yarn. The nose color is called Terracotta, the red is called Scarlet and blue is called Dusty Blue.
The small top hat uses Loops & Threads Impeccable in black. The consistency of this yarn is a little stiffer than most. So it works GREAT for embellishments that need to hold their shape. It is also the yarn I use for the ears on my Mickey and Minnie Mouse hats.
